Ingredient On Hand compares what is on your shelf with the level where you want to be warned. You type each item, its quantity, unit, location, pack price, expiry date and the low threshold. The sheet marks every item In stock, Low or Out, and lists the low and out items on a Shop list tab.
Item, quantity, unit, location, pack price, expiry and the low threshold you set. Type 0 if you have none.
In stock, Low or Out, each with a symbol, so it still reads in black and white.
Low and out rows appear there with the quantity to buy. In stock rows stay off the list.
Ten sample ingredients, five of them low or out, which is exactly what the Shop list tab shows.
Anything Low or Out lands on the Shop list tab with the quantity to buy. In stock items stay off it, so the list holds only what you need.
Excel opens the .xlsx file as it is. For Google Sheets, upload the file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets. There is a How to use tab in the file.
Each file stands alone. These three are the ones bakers open side by side.

This week’s cake orders turned into a buy list of ingredients.

How many packs of boxes, boards and liners the first month needs.
List every ingredient with its quantity, unit and where you keep it, and add a level at which you want to reorder. Ingredient On Hand is built that way and turns the low items into a shop list.
For a baker: the item, how much you have, the unit, where it is kept, what a pack costs, when it expires and the level where you reorder. Those are the columns of Ingredient On Hand.
For cake, the first month usually means boxes, boards and liners plus a steady list of ingredients. Ingredient On Hand tracks the ingredients, and First Month Packaging turns the cakes you expect into packs to buy.
A bakery equipment list names the tools and machines you own, which is a different job from tracking ingredients. Ingredient On Hand tracks ingredients, with a quantity, a unit, a location, a pack price and an expiry date.
Ingredient On Hand is not a free template: it costs $11.00 and is an editable .xlsx file. It opens in Excel, and in Google Sheets after you upload it to Google Drive.
List every purchase with its item, quantity and price, then total the column. Ingredient On Hand keeps a pack price for each ingredient, but it does not total your expenses or the value of your stock. Supplier Reorder totals what you buy from suppliers.
